I started shooting film in 2019 and have been hooked ever since. I like how it slows everything down because every shot actually matters. Working in the darkroom is one of my favorite parts of the process. Watching an image appear on paper for the first time never gets old.
Film photography gives me a reason to get outside and pay attention. Whether I’m walking around my neighborhood or traveling somewhere new, it makes me notice light, space, and small details I’d usually miss. You can see my full portfolio here.
Right now I use two cameras. My 35mm Minolta 7000 was a great find at Swapfest and has been my go-to for quick, everyday shooting. I also use a Pentax 67, a medium format camera from the 1970s that used to be popular for studio and fashion work. It’s big and heavy, but the image quality makes it worth it.
